A guide to evolution: part two

| Dragon City

It's safe to say that there are a lot of dragons in Dragon City but that's why we love it so much.

This second in our two-part evolution guide walks you through dragon evolution, takes a look at the three different states, and addresses why you'd want to evolve a dragon.

How to evolve your dragon

Evolving dragons is a simple, albeit expensive, process.
Once a dragon is hatched you tap on the Habitat and then on the dragon that you want to evolve.

You then feed it food until it reaches the next level. Once it reaches the threshold for evolution, it evolves.

The different dragon states

Each dragon has three states of evolution. It begins as a hatchling, becomes a juvenile at level four, and reaches its peak at level seven when it achieves adulthood.

Dragons can continue to level up to a level cap of 40 after this point.

Why evolve your dragons?

Dragons gain power as they level up so if you're into PvP you're going to want to hit the level cap with your favourites.

They also gain the ability to breed when they reach adolescence at level 4 which will help you complete the Dragon Book, a series of dragon collections.

Completing a dragon collection requires you to fully evolve all dragons in a particular list and rewards you with gems. This one of the few ways of earning these without paying.

Finally, higher level dragons produce more gold which boosts your economy.
