Evolution is simple in Dragon City. Your dragon eats food to level up until, at a certain level threshold, it evolves into another, more powerful, state.

There are 40 collections to work through containing a whopping 822 evolutions - that's 274 dragons with three states of evolution each.
Complete a collection and you're rewarded with gems - one of the few ways to attain this without spending real money.
PerksAn evolved dragon also gains access to new combat skills and statistical advantages. Tournament regulars will want to evolve their favourite or most powerful dragons as quickly as possible.
Higher level dragons also produce a lot more gold so your economy will rise significantly as a result of them living in your habitats.
