Double Dragon II punches onto mobile

Ah, the good old days of sideways scrolling beat-'em ups, where you weren't a real man unless you'd completed Double Dragon AND Final Fight on an arcade machine, with one hand tied behind your back, and a self-imposed ban on picking up baseball bats. Happy days.

Fancy reliving them? Elite Systems is about to release Double Dragon II for mobile, in a faithful conversion of the NES version of the game. Developed by Qubic, it aims to squeeze the game down for mobiles (not to mention mobile keypads).

It promises graphics that'll take you back to your childhood years, a range of thumping moves, and perhaps most intriguingly, a context-sensitive control system designed to work well on a modern-day mobile.

Will it be too difficult for the tastes of current mobile gamers? That remains to be seen. We're reviewing Double Dragon II as we speak, so click 'Track It' for an alert when our assessment is published.
