iPhone set to face its Darkest Fear
Award-winning mobile horror/survival game coming to the iPhone
The Darkest Fear trilogy of mobile games are serial award winners here at Pocket Gamer – each earning itself a very respectable Silver Award for their remarkable, chilling twist on the puzzle game genre.
Developer Rovio has apparently been inundated with requests to bring Darkest Fear to the iPhone, and has just dropped us a line to say it's finally given in.
The iPhone version of Darkest Fear will boast a complete graphical facelift and a new control system designed specifically for Apple's touchscreen handset.
"We thought it was about time that a true horror game hit the App Store shelves," explains Rovio's Matthew Wilson. "In Darkest Fear for iPhone we will be remaking the first Darkest Fear game – Rovio’s most popular title."
The terrifying mystery follows the adventures of Dr Thomas Warden, who receives a frantic phone call from his wife asking him to make haste to the old hospital mansion where she works to save their child.
The good doctor must follow a deep and haunting story of hidden mystery and bitter despair as he attempts to solve puzzles and rescue the hospital's patients from bloodthirsty creatures lurking in the dark.
The game is currently undergoing its alpha testing stage, and we're told this screenshots represent around 70 per cent of what's to come. Hopefully Rovio won't meet with any obstruction in trying to put a first-class horror game onto the iPhone, as we're wonderfully excited at the prospect of treading the foreboding hospital corridors of Darkets Fear once again.
