Crossfire: Warzone, Joycity's real-time strategy game, launches globally for iOS & Android
The latest entry in Smilegate's CrossFire series
| CROSSFIRE: Warzone
I imagine the first exposure many had to Smilegate's Crossfire would have been at E3 2019, which was when its console version was announced. The thing is that it's been absolutely massive in Asia for over a decade at this point, so it's quite exciting to see the series head westward in a big way.
The original Crossfire is a military FPS similar to Valve's Counter-Strike games, though the newly released Crossfire: Warzone is completely different – a top-down strategy game for mobile.
The game soft-launched many months back in select regions, including Singapore and the Philippines. Earlier today, it released globally for iOS and Android.
Warzone offers real-time strategy combat where you'll fight to reclaim cities under the control of a deadly terrorist group with access to futuristic tech. Thankfully, you'll have an upgraded arsenal of your own with which to control the battlefield.
As you progress, you'll gradually build up your base of operations and amass a roster of 25 heroes. With it being something of an MMO, you have the option to form alliances with other players and participate in giant city takeovers.
There are currently some launch events going on, including check-in and power level ranking events. You'll find more info over on the game's official Facebook page.
And if you fancy giving it a go, you can download Crossfire: Warzone from over on the App Store and Google Play as a free-to-play game.Hunting for some top-tier mobile strategy games? Here are 25 of the very best for iPhone & iPad
