Criss Cross Castle lets you save the world of words from the evil Illiterati, out now
  • Charming word puzzler with roguelite elements
  • Play as Wanda the witch or Pip the Squire
  • Side-quests and mini-games abound

Simply Sweet Games has officially launched Criss Cross Castle, a charming new puzzler where you wield the magic of words across an enchanted fantasy land. Now, I've always believed in the power of words and their ability to save the world, and in this case, it's all quite literal - and I am all for it.

In Criss Cross Castle, you'll embark on an epic quest to recover stolen words and defeat evildoers as an adorable little witch. The forces of darkness are called the Illiterati, by the way - and if that alone doesn't at least pique your interest, I'm not sure what will.

Hyperbole aside, there are plenty of clever word puzzles to solve and hidden treasures to unlock here, along with roguelite elements that spice up each run. Vocabulary challenges evolve as you go along, and if you ever feel like you need a quick break, the mini-games and special side-quests offer lovely palate cleansers on your journey.
