Casey's Contraptions HD gets more social with web integration for sharing DIY levels

A thoroughly enjoyable physics puzzler in the theme of The Incredible Machine, Pocket Gamer Gold award winner Casey's Contraptions HD has just received its first update.

One of the key new features is integration with its companion website. This means people can visit the site by tapping a button within My Friends' Contraptions area, also sharing their self-made contraptions (aka levels) via the website. Previously distribution was via email, although this is still supported.

The website is already filling up fast with almost user generated 100 levels for you to try out.

Bring the family

The other main focus of the update enables multiple profiles on one iPad so different family members can play the game at their own pace rather than through one shared account.

Completing the feature list is the ability to load your past solutions, autosubmission of your best solutions, the ability to delete submitted solutions, additional hints in early levels, in-game news, bug fixes, and other UI streamlining.

As for the next planned update, that will see the iPad version turned into an universal build, the release of a separate and cheaper iPhone version, plus a new themed location and new items, and - of course - new levels.

But, until then, Casey's Contraptions HD remains an iPad-only game, priced at $2.99, €2.39 or £1.79.

You can see how it plays in the following video.
