Destroy all the Erflings in veteran BioShock dev's upcoming Captain Bubblenaut

Just for the fun of it, veteran game designers Dean Tate (BioShock, Dance Central) and Owen Macindoe (MIT Game Lab) have made an iPhone game themed around parabolas.

Said game is called Captain Bubblenaut.

Captain Bubblenaut isn't as innocent as its colourful presentation would make it out to be, though.

You play as the titular spaceman sent to "Erf" by Admiral Pop to destroy all the Erflings. You do this via simple "slide the terrain" controls and by swooping the spherical Captain over the curvy ground, crushing those beneath him.

There's plenty of cosmetic variation here in the form of zombies, superheroes, pirates, and flying pigs. You'll also encounter more challenging terrain as you invade Egypt, San Francisco, and even Easter Island.

Expect big things from the Captain Bubblenaut music and sounds, too, as Chris Remo (Thirty Flights of Loving, Gone Home) and Danny Baranowsky (Canabalt, Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac) were in charge of those elements.

Captain Bubblenaut will roll onto the App Store on August 19th, priced £1.49 / $1.99.
