Call of Duty Warzone, the biggest battle royale around, is getting an official mobile release

Video game powerhouse Activision has announced a mobile adaptation of their wildly popular battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone. With over 75 million players, the PC version has seen immense success, so bringing it to mobile is bound to see even more fame being brought its way.

Announced in a tweet from the official Activision Twitter account calling for interested developers to apply for the process, Call of Duty: Warzone is the next big battle royale game set for mobile. Given its place as the #1 PC battle royale, it is safe to say this is some of the biggest news for any battle royale player. Bringing it to mobile also opens the door to expand the game worldwide, and to allow people who don’t have the beefy PC requirements needed, to finally get a chance to play it.

While Activision is publishing the title, which isn’t exactly surprising given they are behind the PC version and all Call of Duty games, the developers of the mobile edition are confirmed to be Digital Legends. Digital Legends are an experienced studio acquired last year by Activision for projects on mobile, which judging by this announcement, turned out to be this.

This release will assuredly be massive and is bound to generate a lot of hype both within the Call of Duty sphere as well as just the general mobile gaming realm. Considering how well the other mobile Call of Duty adaptation is doing, putting that into the battle royale market will likely take over the entire world. Though, with games like Apex Legends Mobile and Valorant Mobile on the horizon, it’ll be interesting to see how the top triple-A mobile games all compete with one another. In the meantime, you can stay updated on all things Call of Duty Mobile by either following Activision’s Twitter or stay tuned to the official website for announcements.
