Gamescom '11: EA showing off upcoming iOS FPS Battlefield 3: Aftershock at this week's GamesCom, launch expected around October 25th

EA will be showcasing the iOS version of its upcoming war shooter Battlefield 3 to select members of the press at this week's Gamescom event.
Very little is known about the iPhone and iPad shooter other than its full name - Battlefield 3: Aftershock - but we presume it'll be a slimmed-down version of the console experience.
The series's previous iPhone outing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 earned a respectable Bronze Award at review, so we hope the new title can go at least one better.
Battlefield 3: Aftershock is slated for release around October 25th, to coincide with the launch of the console version.
