EA confirms that Battlefield 3: Aftershock won't return to App Store

After a week of silence on the matter, EA has finally announced that Battlefield 3: Aftershock will not be returning to App Store.

This free-to-play iOS multiplayer title, based on the company's hugely successful console franchise, was pulled from the App Store on February 22nd barely two weeks after its launch, following a slew of dire reviews and negative customer feedback.

Irate users took to the game's App Store product page to complain about issues related to controls and connectivity, which rendered the FPS all but unplayable.

Man down

Yesterday, an EA spokesperson confirmed that Battlefield 3: Aftershock is officially MIA, delivering this statement to Vox Games:

"In the interest of bringing consumers only the highest level of quality mobile entertainment, EA Mobile has decided to suspend development and support of Battlefield 3: Aftershock and refocus its resources on other titles.

"The Aftershock servers will be live through March 31st, 2012, and customers who have already downloaded the game can continue to play until then."

Given the avalanche of one-star reviews Battlefield 3: Aftershock received, we can't see anybody crying themselves to sleep over this one. If you were a fan, however, we advise you to get your game on while you still can.
