Nintendo releasing Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda system this Autumn

Nintendo is releasing a new Game & Watch system in celebration of The Legend of Zelda series’ 35th anniversary. The item launches on 12th November this year.

Similar to the previous Game & Watch system created for Mario’s 35th anniversary, the Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda is a handheld system that contains three classic Nintendo games: The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and the Game Boy version of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

The system is intended as a way to mark the occasion of Zelda’s 35th anniversary and reflect on its earliest days. Each of the three games included on the system are full versions as they originally appeared on their respective platforms back in the day.

The system also includes a special Legend of Zelda version of the classic Game & Watch game, Vermin, with the character made up to resemble Link. You can take a look at the games that are included in this collection below.

Additionally, it’ll also have the built-in clock which also functions as a minigame itself, allowing you to run around small maps as Link defeating enemies while a functioning clock works in the scenery.

This clock functionality also has a countdown timer screen with a visual style that resembles Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.

Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda is available on 12th November from selected retailers. The price hasn’t been confirmed yet, but don’t expect it to be too cheap.
