Star Garden Games has released Sixit, a new puzzle game for iOS and Android that was previously available in early access.
In Sixit you play as a small animal called Pep, who is the most intelligent creature in the entire forest. You’re tasked with helping your people and keeping them safe from the incoming storm that threatens their way of life. You also use this time to solve the mystery of the storm’s origins before it devastates the forest.
As you wander the forest you are able to explore different places and engage in activities. You must track down six hidden treasures that will teach you the secrets of the forest and how to save the village. These treasures are hidden around the map waiting to be discovered, and if you manage to collect them all then you can unravel the final secret of the village.
Sixit introduces a unique angle to the typical puzzle format, where it only allows you to carry out six actions per run. This means your entire progress depends upon your very limited actions, so be sure the decisions you make are really the best ones since there won’t be much room for leeway here.
The controls are also pretty straightforward, using a touch and hold system to control Pep. This is paired with the game’s simple, hand-drawn illustrations that look extremely adorable. Read about some of our favourite puzzle games on Android right here.
A lot has changed since the game jam version of Sixit. We've added tons of art, side puzzles, and story - but I'm amazed how little the core puzzle design changed. The "last 20%" of a game really does take 80% of the effort.#indiedev #gamedev #GameMakerStudio2 pic.twitter.com/BpJqzyyLtm — Star Garden Games ????? (@StarGardenGames) April 22, 2021
