Skylanders: Ring of Heroes' latest update sees new PvE game modes and in-game events arrive in the RPG

Following the major update released for Skylanders: Ring of Heroes back in December, Com2uS Corp has been regularly adding new content to the game. Today, they've introduced two new PvE modes in Episode Dungeon called Story Mode and Sparring Mode.

The Episode Dungeon looks to bring in-depth backstories that allow players to learn more about the past of Skylanders. The first of its two game variants, Story Mode, will give players bits and pieces of a Ring of Heroes Star Character. Their identity will remain a mystery until the mode has been beaten.

Sparring Mode, meanwhile, will see that Star Character unveiled as a boss. The mode is made up of 20 different stages which increase in difficulty the further players progress. Though that may sound challenging there are adjustable parameters in each Sparring Stage that can be altered such as the number of rounds.

After each stage of either Story or Sparring, players will net themselves Episode Coins, which can then be exchanged at an exclusive shop for various items used for upgrading Skylanders. The update also introduces an Episode Pass, which is a type of Battle Pass, that will net them a variety of rewards when clearing missions related to the Episode Dungeon.

Elsewhere, a variety of in-game events are also underway. There will be a series of daily missions to complete that will reward players with dice that can be used to obtain several rewards. This will take place until February 22nd. Finally, a check-in event will run until February 28th that net players numerous in-game items.

Skylanders: Ring of Heroes is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
