Rebel Cops is a high-intensity strategy game that sees you going up against a ruthless crime lord controlling your hometown of Ripton. With the town's officials on his payroll and police at his mercy, it's up to you and your motley crew of "true policemen" to head out, stock up on ammo, and dispense some vigilante justice.

Interestingly, it's a spinoff to the popular This is the Police series, which we've covered here at PG in the past, with our App Army also having shared their thoughts on the first game. It takes place in the same world, though it's currently unclear as to whether there's any other major overlap.

Rebel Cops is said to offer "thrilling, high-stakes tactical missions with complex turn-based strategy mechanics", which certainly sounds similar to This is the Police. You can expect over 15 hours of missions to work your way through, each boasting multiple solutions and outcomes based on your approach.

A lot of its intensity stems from the fact that a single shot can kill one of your squad mates. They'll quickly bleed out on the floor if you don't act fast, and so you'll often be faced with whether to risk the lives of your other men to save whoever was downed. Thankfully, the same is true of your enemies.

That being said, rushing in guns blazing is a sure-fire way to get your squad wiped out, so it's really all about careful, strategic planning and positioning. If you're up for the challenge, you can opt to arrest the suspects instead. The decisions you make throughout will ultimately decide your reputation, squad morale, and even merchant prices.

Handy Games' Rebel Cops is a premium title available for purchase now over on the App Store and Google Play
