This week's Apple Arcade game is perhaps one of the service's most interesting yet. It's called Scrappers, and it comes to us from Q-Games, creator of the excellent PixelJunk series. What's it about? Well, it's about bin men.

It's described as a "hyper-stylised futuristic waste-management beat 'em up", which, c'mon, has to be one of the best concepts for a video game in some time. Bin men are unsung heroes in reality, but in Scrappers' dystopian future, they're seldom welcomed by the locals.

In a world now ruled by robots, old bits of rubbish have naturally spiked in value. Violent gangs have now grasped the opportunity to acquire and sell that which the bin men aim to collect, hence why you'll so often be met with aggressive robot henchmen.

You can go it alone or team up with others to keep the streets clean, and you may need some extra help when it comes to the game's tricky boss fights. By the looks of things, it could prove to be a fairly stressful experience for some, what with its constantly escalating action and onslaught of enemies.

You might remember that Q-Games was also behind one of last year's Apple Arcade releases, Frogger in Toy Town. As I say, I'm a big fan of the PixelJunk series, and the team's games are typically super polished and distinct.

Purely based on the screenshots and brief gameplay I've seen, I really love Scrappers' sense of style and unique premise, so I'll definitely be checking it out when it launches for Apple Arcade later today. Here's a link to the game's store page

In other Apple Arcade news, updates for Lego Brawls, Stranded Sails, and Secret Oops! are all set to arrive today. Next week's Apple Arcade game is the 3D puzzler A Fold Apart.
