Earlier today, we posted a story about Playdigious teasing an upcoming announcement. Turns out that it's confirmation of the long-awaited Android port's release date. We now know to expect it on June 3rd.

Dead Cells is an award-winning metroidvania roguelike that sees you attempting to escape a labyrinthine castle, journeying from the dungeons below to the ramparts above. Along the way, you'll take on all manner of foul creatures and bosses. It's fast, violent, and thrilling from start to finish.

Jon's glowing review of the Switch version attests to the game's stellar design, high level of polish, and generous helping of roguelike fun.

The Android port is being handled by developer Playdigious, who was also behind the excellent iOS port. It's said to be carefully redesigned for Android devices, boasting a revamped interface. You'll be able to customise the buttons' on-screen positions and sizes, and it supports external controllers.

A special launch discount of 10% will be applied for its first week of release, bringing its price from $9.99 to $8.99. The iOS version just went on sale for the first time ever, receiving a sizable 30% discount, lowering its price from $8.99 to $5.99. That discount is planned to last until next Tuesday, April 14th, so be sure to take advantage of it while you can.
