Super Gigadroid is a Metroid inspired side-scrolling shooter that's now available for iOS and Android. It initially launched last week but since then the Android version has already been updated to change the current pricing model, which we'll discuss later.
The game itself sees you making your way through various levels across different planets, battling against numerous alien creatures as you go in typical Metroid fashion. There are currently 12 levels in the game with more expected to be added in the coming months.
There will be various weapons and upgrades to pick up on each level that will let you destroy previously impenetrable blocks or jump to greater heights. There will also be several hidden passages too that will reward players who take the time to explore. They'll also be able to collect gems that can be spent to unlock alternative character skins, one of which is a cool looking fox.
As previously mentioned, the game has already had some fairly noteworthy updates since it launched last week. Initially, the game had a Gem store that received some fairly negative feedback from players so the developer has opted to remove it and rework the payment model.
Now players will be able to try 8 levels before being prompted to unlock the full version, which at full price is a fairly hefty $19.99, although it is currently discounted to $5.00. However, it's worth noting that this is currently only the case on Android.
The iOS version is still waiting for Apple to approve the update that will replace the old IAP system, so it might be best to wait on that before diving in if you're an iOS user. Particularly since there are a number of glitches that also need ironing out such as the player character turning invisible.Enjoy action-packed games? Here are 25 of the best on Android
