Build a car empire then prove yourself on the track

Overdrive City, Gameloft's city building/racing game hybrid, is available for iOS and Android now

Overdrive City was announced last December when Gameloft unveiled their upcoming city builder/light racing game. It's now available globally for both iOS and Android.

On the city building front, players will be able to create a car driver's dream location by having custom streets where the roads double up asphalt raceways. They'll also be able to create car factories, production facilities and research centres to help grow their car-centric empire.

From there, players will be able to take cars from the factory floor to the racetrack. They'll be able to manufacture them, fulfil service orders and export their automotive creations. There are 50 different well-known car models in the game at launch, offering up cars from the likes of Porsche, Ford and BMW.

Gameloft promises a decent amount of customisation for your vehicles too with a plethora of paint colours to select from and a vinyl editor to create fancy designs for your rides. You can then trade them or even car parts with your friends to help each other's cities flourish.

Once you feel like you've created the car of your dreams it'll be time to hit the track and prove your worth as a race driver as well as being a car manufacturing tycoon. There will be a career mode that you can drift your way through with over 60 races across 6 chapters to top the podium in.

Beyond that, you'll be able to compete in a variety of racing trials where you'll find a staggering 1000+ extra races to do. So you won't be short of things to do in Overdrive City it appears. There's more content on the way too, with competitive racing events apparently making their way into the game at some stage.

Overdrive City is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
