Pokemon GO is looking to help us celebrate the spirit of family and friendship with its first-ever Friend Fest event. It's set to run from today, November 27th, through to Monday, December 2nd, meaning you've got under a week to get involved and earn some neat rewards.

During Friend Fest, you'll encounter "family-themed" Pokemon (who knows?) such as the two Nidorans and their evolutions. You'll be able to acquire these guys both in the field and through special research tasks. Some of the bonuses up for grabs can be seen below:

  • 1/2 Stardust trade cost
  • You can make two special trades per day
  • Attack boost when you raid with friends

Sure, it's hardly the biggest event in the history of Pokemon GO, but it's still worth checking out if you're an avid player of the game.

Also running this week is the Terrakion five-star raid event. This is exactly what it sounds like. Terrakion, the cavern Pokemon, is a rock-and-fighting-type legendary, who is said to be strong enough to destroy castles. It's advised that you bring your best water, grass, fighting, ground, psychic, steel, and fairy-type Pokemon to face him.

The event will run until December 17th, so you've got plenty of time to take on the challenge.

And if you slept through the summer of 2016, you'll find Pokemon GO available for download now from both the App Store and Google Play.
