Chess Rush continues to bring the updates after Tencent recently added new heroes to their auto-battler. This time around they're adding in the 4v4 mode that was teased last week and you can play it right now.

The new mode is called Squad Clash. You will be able to team up with three of your friends to tackle another team of four from around the world. Both teams will share a health bar of 500 as well as units.

It will allow players to reinforce their teammates in battle to help give them the edge over their opponents. If they win their own individual skirmish and have any surviving units left then they are randomly sent to their other teammates to fight by their side, which could potentially turn a dire looking situation around.

Much like the co-op mode, you will be able to flick between the boards to see how your pals are getting. To see a little preview of how Squad Clash will work then check out the trailer below.

Squad Clash will be available for the next two weeks. During this time it will replace the co-op mode and the two will then rotate on a fortnightly basis. So that means if you're only into Chess Rush for the co-op mode, you're out of luck for the next two weeks, but perhaps you can badger two of your other friends to join in.

Chess Rush is available from the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
