The release date for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's latest character has leaked
The Hero will seemingly accompany version 4.0.0 this Wednesday
It’s looking like the next big update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, version 4.0.0, is coming this week, which also means that Hero from Dragon Quest, the latest DLC character, will soon be making his grand entrance to the world of Smash Bros.
The news comes to us thanks to a now-deleted tweet from the official Nintendo of America account which stated version 4.0.0 would launch this Wednesday, July 31st. The tweet was quickly deleted and replaced by another which omitted the release date of the upcoming update.
Series director Masahiro Sakurai will show off some Hero gameplay as part of a new video presentation series set to launch tomorrow. It’s fair to assume the release date was intended to be announced during the show, though the cat’s obviously out of the bag now. That being said, I’m sure it’ll still be worth watching for more info on The Hero character and the update itself.NoE accidentally revealed the release date of the 4.0.0 update (and thus the release date of Hero).
Tweet has since been deleted. Whoops. pic.twitter.com/qD90InbubX — Oliver Brandt (@Chocobalt) July 29, 2019
Clearly nothing has been definitively confirmed as of yet, but it’s pretty much a dead cert that we’ll be able to try out Super Smash Bros. Ultimate version 4.0.0 this Wednesday, July 31st.
If you’re yet to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, I mean, what have you been doing with your time? We reviewed it late last year, praising it endlessly for its accessible, though still layered, gameplay and eclectic roster. Next up, we’ll be seeing Banjo & Kazooie later this year.
