Fans of the Legacy series of 3D point-and-click adventure games can rejoice, safe in the comfort of knowing that the third entry, The Hidden Relic, has now made its way to iOS and Android devices. The game won the Big Indie Pitch competition held at Sweden Game Arena 2018 and we couldn’t wait to finally see it released.
Legacy 3 is a prequel to the very first title, and yet again aims to test the intelligence and memory skills of players, this time placing them in the role of a young archaeologist in search of his missing mentor.
In the same vein of the first two games, Legacy 3 – The Hidden Relic is a very slow-paced and methodical puzzle game. The best way to go about solving the various puzzles is to slow down, think, and analyse. Do that and the puzzles will be easier for you to solve. Guessing simply won’t work, so it pays dividends to think each conundrum through thoroughly.
If this sounds challenging that’s because Legacy 3 – The Hidden Relic is intended to be by design. Those worried about getting too stuck can rest easy, however, knowing that an in-built hint system is there to help you when you're feeling frustrated. The difficulty of puzzles increases as you progress, but it all adds up to a rewarding sense of achievement in the long run.
Legacy 3 – The Hidden Relic isn’t modest in terms of how beautiful and well-realised the location you're thrust into is. Full 3D graphics keep players more immersed in the setting’s thick sense of atmosphere, encouraging them to press on in the hope of unravelling the mystery at hand. It’s safe to say that if Legacy 2 - The Ancient Curse was a dark sequel, this is the opposite.
