Nab Pikachu and Eevee during Pokémon GO's Kanto event
Increased encounter rate for Kanto-based Pokémon
To celebrate the upcoming launch of Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let's Go, Eevee!, Pokémon GO will be increasing the encounter rate for Pokémon that are native to the Kanto region.
And, as first reported over on Serebii.net, the event is set to start later this week, so thankfully we don't have too long to wait.
Just in case your memory is a little vague when it comes to who's from where, the Kanto region is home to many of the most famous Pokémon. If I remember right, that includes Bulbasaur and Squirtle – note that I said most famous, not coolest.
Plus, as this is a tie in event, you can also expect to see a lot more of Pikachu and Eevee, as their encounter rate is also getting a boost.
Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee! are set for release on the 16th, which is this Friday. They look like a combination of both Pokémon GO and the original series of games, but it remains to be seen if that meshing of styles will be entirely successful.
If you somehow slept through 2016 and still haven't given AR Pokémon hunting a go, then I'd suggest heading on over to the App Store or Google Play, where Pokémon GO is available free to play.
