Russian Front is Hunted Cow's 'most ambitious strategy game yet', out now for tablets

Hunted Cow's latest grand strategy game is Russian Front - a game that we haven't heard anything about since December 2013.

It's unusual for Hunted Cow to take as long to develop a game as it has with Russian Front. The reason might have something to do with it apparently being the studio's "most ambitious strategy game yet."

This is down to Hunted Cow wanting to give the pivotal battle for the Russian Front during World War II the scale that it deserves.

The 108 turn campaign has you starting from Operation Barbarossa, and follows through the German invasion of Russia right through to its end.

However, there are also four other starting points you can choose from rather than do the whole thing at once.

One of the options is to start a little later on the Russian side and join in with the Russian counter-attack against Germany.

One of the most challenging aspects of Russian Front, aside from the tanks and soldiers, is dealing with the weather.

The game has a seasonal weather pattern that will affect the tactics you can employ in battle. The bitter cold means that cutting off supply lines can be a critical attack.

Mind you, both side will forced to wait out the winter for reinforcements to arrive in summer. Expect a struggle, then.
