This week on the PS Vita Store: Limbo, Rayman Origins, and Cardboard Castle

Out on a limb

This week on the PS Vita Store: Limbo, Rayman Origins, and Cardboard Castle

A new week, a new horde of free Vita games on PS Plus. But only if you're a PS Plus subscriber, of course.

For non-PS Plus subscribers, however, there's not a lot of interesting new material on the Vita Store this week. Shame.

So, if you haven't already, you should really jump aboard the PS Plus train. You won't regret it, champ.

Anyway. Let's crack on, shall we...

Full-price releases

Limbo is a game that, let's be honest, you've probably already played on at least one other platform before, right?

This silhouetted masterpiece was on Xbox 360, then PS3, then PC, then Mac, then OnLive... and now it's available for your PS Vita.

The £9.99 / $14.99 price tag is a bit steep given how old it is. But if you're a PS Plus subscriber, keep on reading...

Paint Park Plus is a set of free painting tools, while Toro's Friend Network is a method for connecting with PSN friends and taking part in activities together.

Meanwhile, Quell Memento is available in the US this week for $4.99. It's that age-old puzzle game about sliding blocks around a tiled board to complete a core goal.

It's so much more than that, mind, thanks to a huge dollop of variety. Check out our iOS review of Quell Memento to see just what I mean.

PlayStation Plus games and offers

This is where it gets exciting, PS Plus folks.

European gamers can grab the glorious Rayman Origins and the newly released Coconut Dodge Revitalised for free this week.

Oh yeah, and if you got Limbo for free through PS Plus last year on PS3, you should find that you now also have it for free on Vita, which is pretty neat.

Meanwhile, Americans can snare Let's Fish! Hooked On for half price ($10). Saying that, it isn't very good, so you'll want to leave that well alone.

There's also a sizable PSP and E3 sale going on right now, with tons of discounts on past games for PS Plus subscribers.

PlayStation Mobile releases

Once again, there's a nice selection of indie titles available this week in the PS Mobile section of the Store.

Sword of Rapier is a quirky 3D free-to-play RPG. "Defeat attack from the slender rapier!" the blurb reads. "Defeat the enemies in the sky everywhere!" Okaaaaay.

Sukelook is a scheduling app. Yep, calendar information and so forth. This app costs £1.19, but it looks very basic.

Minesweeper is... well, do I need to explain this one to you? It's a rip-off, of course, but then it does look like a 'good' rip-off. £1.59 for this.

Hyper Reminder is a to-do list tool for your Vita. For £2.19. I think that's all I need to say on that matter.

Chiebura is a rather decent- and crazy-looking platformer / shooter. That's got a price tag of 79p.

Cardboard Castle has piqued my interest greatly, too, I must say, although its RRP is a bit prohibitive.

PSP and PSone Classics

As mentioned previously, Europeans can take advantage of a PSP sale this week... but only if you're a PS Plus subscriber.

You can expect to see a 20 percent discount on all PSP games. All of them! Huzzah.

And Americans can look forward to a new PSP release this week. Dungeon-crawling RPG Class of Heroes II was originally released in Japan back in 2009, but it's finally got a US release all these years later.

See you next week!
