Another week. Another new iPhone and iPad title from The Sandbox publisher Bulkypix.

This week's new release is Penumbear, which is a gorgeous-looking "classic platformer" with an emphasis on exploration, puzzles, and the use of light.

In this title, you (Penumbear) awaken in the basement of a dark and dangerous castle. The only other soul in sight is a small purple firefly who has the unique ability to turn lights off and on.

Saying that, Penumbear himself has a rather rare ability. He can walk on the lines that are created where light and shadow meet.

You, then, must utilise both abilities and escape the confines of your new citadel home by working your way through 100 unique stages packed with shadowy creatures.

Up your street? Penumbear has just landed on the New Zealand App Store, which means it'll be available to download in the UK and US from around midnight this evening.

It'll set you back £1.49 / $1.99.
