Hello! Yes, your eyes do not deceive you - your favourite mobile and portable gaming site Pocket Gamer is six years old today.

Since the site launched back on a (probably) stormy March 10th, 2006, we've brought you wonderful readers over 29,480 articles, spanning everything from J2ME games and Nokia's attempt at the first 'gamer's' phone, right through to the rise of the iPhone and the launch of Sony's PS Vita.

Keep the numbers coming!

If we're going to be really anal and break down the numbers (using our tech man Jay's rather nifty piece of script), I can tell you that should you wish to peruse every article ever posted on our site, you'd better be prepared to read over 11 million words.

And (at least) half of those can be found in Mark's various Angry Birds guides.

In fact, some of our most popular stories with you guys over the years have been our awesome selection of reviews, guides, features, and top ten charts, with our patented scientific method (we play them) for finding the best Android games for each month leading to rundowns that prove very popular with 'droid users.

Jolly good fellow

Of course, this being Pocket Gamer, we're not going to just sit back and pack everything in now we've turned six.

There are lots of exciting developments planned for the site later in the year - some that'll have a direct effect on how you browse and view the site, others a bit more subtle. Like ninja-style subtle.

The Readers' Awards 2012 are still ongoing (with the voting stage due to begin very soon), so keep your eyes out for that, too.

So, here's to another six fantastic years! Now, where's my champagne?
