Global publisher of core online free-to-play games Aeria Games has announced it's starting a mobile division.

Based in Santa Clara, USA, it will launch with 25 employees, growing rapidly as it scales up in terms of internal development and new title acquisition from external studios.

Like its parent, Aeria Mobile will focus on the multiplayer core gaming segment of the mobile market, something it refers to as 'power gamers'.

It plans to release one or two games per month.

"Our new Aeria Mobile division allows the 35 million core players that love our games to extend their multiplayer online experience onto mobile devices," said CEO Lan Hoang.

"We will bring the Aeria Games experience to both new players and existing fans in the fast-growing but underserved mobile core gaming arena."
