[UPDATE] Sony announces European PS Vita launch line-up, including unannounced military shooter Unit 13

UPDATE: The list of launch games on the PlayStation Blog conflicts slightly with the list in the press release. Details in bold below.

Sony held a press event in London today to show off its forthcoming PS Vita handheld and some of the games that you'll be able to play on it.

Our own Will Wilson was there, so we'll no doubt be bringing you some hands-on impressions later. In the meantime, Sony has sent out a press release detailing the system's European first- and third-party launch line-up.

You may as well have the list (sans trademark and copyright notices):

Uncharted: Golden Abyss
WipEout 2048
Reality Fighters
Little Deviants
ModNation Racers: Road Trip
Everybody's Golf
Escape Plan
Top Darts
Hustle Kings
Unit 13
MotorStorm RC

On the PlayStation Blog, Unit 13 is not listed as a launch title, whereas both Gravity Rush and Super Stardust are.

We've already seen Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Escape Plan, and Little Deviants at E3 and Gamescom. Uncharted is a predictably meaty-looking addition to the franchise; Escape Plan is an interesting-looking monochrome action-puzzler; and Little Deviants is a mini-game collection designed to show off the features of the PS Vita.

Also included on the list of first-party releases are two hitherto unannounced games: MotorStorm RC and Unit 13.

MotorStorm RC is a racer from the popular franchise with “social interaction at the fore.” There will be 24 vehicles available at launch, with more to come as DLC, along with tracks and more.

Zipper Interactive's Unit 13 (pictured) is a new franchise which Sony is describing as an “authentic” third-person military shooter. You'll be playing in “contemporary mission scenarios” in the Horn of Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, and South Asia confronting terrorists, dictators, gun runners, drug traffickers, and other gits like that. Apparently it has a “ripped from the headlines” feel.

You'll get to choose from six different classes - Infiltrator, Sniper, Soldier, Technician, Point Man, and Support. Sony says, “Unit 13 focuses on portable play, with bite-sized gameplay and a non-linear mission structure that will allow players to jump in at any time, without having to keep up with a story or previous events.”

Will adds via email that it'll contain 36 repeatable missions and “viral sharing of 'high value targets' – boss characters, essentially.”

Sony has also revealed that a range of third-party PS Vita titles will be available for the system's launch on February 22nd, providing this list of third-party titles "currently in development" (we've contacted the publishers below to ask when their respective games will be available):
