Further to news that Unity has let go two of the senior people behind its Union aggregation program, the company has promised that the initiative "has not been derailed in any way."

"On the contrary, Union has refocused behind the goal of democratising game distribution," states Tracy Erickson, who takes the role of curating the Union games catalogue.

Union's veep of business development Oren Tversky will overseeing day-to-day operations.

Firm commitment

In terms of ongoing content, Erickson also reveals the program will support Nokia devices, including its N9 MeeGo handset.

"We are on target to launch games on Nokia's N9 handset - in fact, Roboto just became available through the Ovi Store - as well as BlackBerry PlayBook, and Roku," Erickson says.

"Let me assure you that Union is strong and our commitment to developers is even stronger.

"The opportunity to reach gamers on these new and emerging platforms makes Union uniquely attractive and we're excited about its future."
