UK talkshow host Jonathan Ross has potentially outed a 3DS edition of Metroid on his Twitter feed.

The game-obsessed presenter will be showing off the new console and revealing the official launch date, price and game line-up in Amsterdam this coming weekend. And he’s taken to the social network du jour to talk up Nintendo’s console.

He revealed that a few “unexpected revivals” will be making their way to the new handheld, but refused to say anything more. However, a follower said “I have my fingers crossed for Metroid”, to which Wossy (his Twitter handle) replied "I think you're going to be pleased then..."

As for the hardware itself, Ross had this to say: “What I can say about 3DS is that the 3D is far better than I would have thought possible without glasses.”

This isn’t the first time that Jonathan Ross has said something he shouldn’t, and we’re not even talking about prank calling Andrew Sachs on live radio.

He previously outed the Xbox 360 title Fable III by telling his hundreds of thousands of followers that he was offered a voice part for the then-unannounced game by designer Peter Molyneux. Whoops!
