Sony trackpad patent corroborates leaked PSP 2 photographs
|

Sony has filed a new patent, which corroborates information about the PSP 2 leaked earlier this month.

Previously, VG247 posted some shots of a supposed PSP 2 development kit, which had a curious rear 'trackpad' on the device’s backside. This would let you tickle the console's backside for extra control.

Now, a patent has been uncovered, filed by Sony’s North American branch, for a “handheld device with two-finger touch triggered selection”. This sounds suspiciously close to the previous rumours, and gives a new air of authenticity to the leaked photographs.

What do you think? Would a touch-sensitive trackpad on the underside of a handheld be a unique and interesting input method, or a slightly uncomfortable way of interacting with a gadget? Let us know in the comments below.
