Microsoft to hold event on October 11th - Windows Phone 7 news forthcoming?
|

Microsoft has invited UK technology blogs to a press conference in central London on October 11th.

No images, no details, no teases. It could be Windows Phone 7, it could be Xbox 360 Kinect, it could be Steve Ballmer doing stand up comedy in a wig.

Electricpig has its money on Windows Phone 7, saying that previous rumours and reliable sources point towards Microsoft’s new feature-filled mobile as being the conference’s topic.

Another rumour, again from Electricpig, identifies October 21st as the official launch date, ten days after the device’s London debut.

Windows Phone 7 is a gaming-focused OS, that hooks up to your Xbox gamertag for achievements and friends. It’ll be on devices by manufacturers like HTC, Samsung, and LG, and will be available on all UK networks under the sun, including Orange and Vodafone.
