Broken Sword HD drops in time for UK iPad launch, contains Easter eggs

Revolution has kept to its word by releasing a super sized version of its most famous franchise, Broken Sword, on iPad.

It's the same game as last year's iPhone Director's Cut port of Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars, which has Californian tourist George Stobbart tumbling into a web of mysteries and conspiracies after a bomb destroys the cafe he's sitting at.

While the new artwork, from legendary graphic novelist Dave Gibbons, fills the screen, the old graphics from the 1996 PC and PS1 original come with hefty black borders.

While it looks to be identical to its little iPhone ad iPod touch brother, the iTunes description mentions some "additional features over the iPhone version".

We asked Revolution exactly what those features are, and the developer told us that "aside from a million little tweaks", the game comes packed with six easter eggs that will unlock a Dave Gibbons's Broken Sword comic when they're all found.

Broken Sword: Director's Cut HD is available now on iPad for £4.99 / $7.99 / €5.99.

[Update: Revolution told us that "you can also download and install foreign language speech packs", allowing you to play in French, German, Spanish or Italian]
