I've got 99 problems, but the brick ain't one

While the iPad is a hugely desirable piece of kit, if you run out of battery on the road, it’s effectively tombstoned.

So those who think buying an actual newspaper from the local shop on their next camping trip is a ridiculous idea, may wish to consider HyperMac’s new iPad battery bricks.

The company, which made its name with a portable MacBook battery, has now turned its attention to Apple’s tablet. As you might expect, though, this portable power station doesn’t come cheap.

Power play

The entry level device, which uses the standard iPad sync cable via its high power USB slot, will provide a full 34 hours of use and retails for $200 (€175).

You can charge it up via mains or a car charger.

But if you’re really concerned about having access to Flight Control all weekend, plumping for the flagship block will yield 99 hours of use.

For the pleasure, HyperMac will lighten your wallet to the tune of $500 (€440).

We’re not sure if many people will consider buying a battery that costs nearly as much as their device, but the whole range is now on sale in America and Europe via HyperMac's online stores.
