Keyboard and case accessories make Apple iPad slightly more awesome
More reasons to part with $500
While not particularly surprising, it's been quite a show for Apple in San Francisco. The iPad is a characteristically sexy bit of consumer electronics, and at $499 it's cheap enough to sell. Games also look great on it, and it seems users who've already downloaded iPhone or iPod touch apps will be off to a headstart.
The final treat is the surprising awesomeness of the keyboard dock. As the picture below shows (courtesy once again of the marvellous Engadget), this handy object sits on the desk with the iPad plugged into it. The two combined do a very passable impersonation of a computer terminal.
Joining this is a case - a mandatory accessory for device with a screen nearly 10-inches across - which you can invert and prop up so that the screen is facing outwards, allowing you to watch films on it.
