Nokia launches range of iPhone competitors with the X6
The same as my bus number
Nokia is busy talking to the world at its annual conference, and has taken the opportunity to unveil a new range of touchscreen feature phones, beginning with the X6.
This marks the new mid-price range music phones to replace the 6000 series, and the first handset comes with some pretty enticing specs.
Building on Nokia's massively popular 5800 XpressMusic, the X6 will pack in 32GB of memory, a widescreen 3.2” touch-screen, 5MP camera with flash, TV out, A-GPS satnav, Flash web browsing and on-board video editing software.
Most importantly, perhaps, is its close integration with the Ovi Store, which suggests Nokia is aiming just to the side of iPhone territory. The X6 will apparently push the gaming aspects of Nokia's reasonably popular software store, while leaning heavily on the multimedia functions that made the XpressMusic handsets so popular.
More X range devices are expected to be rolled out at regular intervals, so watch this space.
