GDC ’09: DSi to come with 1000 DSiWare points
That’s about 7 quid in old money
To be fair £7 is a pretty fair sum when we’re talking about download content - it’s certainly enough to acquaint you with the new DSiWare online shop, and to pick up a few retro classics to get your new console working.
Over at this year’s GDC, Nintendo went up on stage and flapped about like a fish in a bucket when it came to introducing the west to the DSi. But apparently it never occurred to Satoru Iwata that a small morsel of info, such as the console coming bundled with 1000 DSi points, was well worth mentioning.
This early adopter's prize goes very well with the announcement that Virtual Console will also be available through the handheld hardware update, so let’s just hope the pricing structure is sensible enough to make that 1000 points really worth something.
