Ovi to allow access to N-Gage games

Nokia’s app store to link with gaming service

Ovi to allow access to N-Gage games

Having announced previously that N-Gage would remain a separate entity from their new app store-style service, Ovi, it has now emerged that users of Nokia's new service will nevertheless be able to access and download N-Gage games.

It’s all part of Nokia’s plan to bring all of their existing mobile elements under the one Ovi service.

Speaking to Reuters after his GDC speech, Nokia's head of entertainment Tero Ojanpera said "We'll make those N-Gage games, from the discovery point of view, available through the Ovi store," with the ultimate goal being to “move more and more under this Ovi brand and umbrella."

Intriguingly, this will place N-Gage games alongside the more casual Ovi-designed offerings. As Pocketgamer.biz points out, though, N-Gage developers won't benefit from the more generous 70-30 revenue-share split being offered to Ovi Store developers.
