The launch late last week of paid apps in Android Market has led to a spate of game announcements from the likes of Gameloft and Glu.

Well, make that 3G (ahem) - Gamevil has now joined them, announcing plans to launch four titles for Android: Baseball Superstars 2008, Path of the Warrior, Super Boom Boom and Skipping Stone.

“We have been paying close attention to the Android Market since its first launch back in December of last year," says Eusoon Han, marketing manager at Gamevil USA.

"We believe that the Android platform has enormous potential for growth, and that this is a very exciting moment for many publishers around the world. We are releasing a wide range of games such as Action, RPG, Casual, and Puzzle games. We want to make sure that we can respond to all the cravings of G1 users."

Baseball Superstars 2008 and Path of a Warrior have both been available in free trial versions for Android since December, with both cracking the Top 20 games chart.

Gamevil says it'll launch two more Android titles in the first half of this year, with more to follow.
