Mobile gets magic new Harry Potter game
EA Mobile thinks laterally with its wizardy franchise
EA Mobile is releasing its second Harry Potter mobile game in time for Christmas. It's called Harry Potter Mastering Magic, and it's a mini-game spin on Hogwarts' finest wizard.
You play as Harry, Ron or Hermione, with the game based around different classes in subjects like Herbology, Charms, Astronomy, Potions, and Appearing in Theatre Plays Stark Naked with Horses.
Okay, not that last one.
We had a play on a recent visit to EA Mobile HQ, and the various mini-games were shaping up nicely, with simple controls and accessible gameplay, but enough challenge to keep you coming back.
It's certainly a different take on Hogwarts than EA Mobile's last effort, the polished adventure Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. We liked that, of course, but we're impressed by the way the new game doesn't follow a particular Potter book or film.
