Pocket Gamer MobizineAs you've probably picked up by now, here at Pocket Gamer we make it our business to celebrate pocket gaming in all its forms.

Now we're taking our love of all things portable to the next logical step, by enabling you to get our latest handheld games news when you're out and about.

There's two ways to do this. Either you can access our bespoke portable site (currently in beta) by pointing your mobile browser at www.pocketgamer.co.uk/mob or you can sign up for our Pocket Gamer mobizine.

Unlike limited and often a little bit rubbish WAP sites, mobizines offer a rich, easy to navigate format, enabling you to experience the Pocket Gamer experience as we intended it – only smaller, of course.

Getting the Pocket Gamer mobizine onto your mobile is simplicity itself. Simply text 'mobi pgamer' to 63333 and you'll receive an SMS inviting you to download the mobizine software.

Follow the instructions in that message and your mobizine reader will be installed in either the applications or games folder on your phone. Then you just need to click on the icon to open it up and select the Pocket Gamer mobizine.

Once you've downloaded the initial software, there's an update available every morning (from 8:20) featuring five new stories that you can browse at your leisure. You can get this by selecting 'refresh edition' from the mobizine menu.

Although the service is free from us (we're nice like that), there could be small download charges from your operator, depending on your tariff. The guys who make the mobizine software (a company called Refresh) tell us these won't be more than around 15 pence for the first application download and then three pence for each edition – a small price to pay to get our news on the go, and you can cancel the service whenever you want.

For more information, you can visit www.mobizines.com. If you need any help in getting started, e-mail [email protected].

Don't forget to come back here and tell us what you think afterwards, and do keep an eye out for other portable developments in the future – we've got bigger plans for this little edition.
