Arknights: Endfield snags nomination for Best Mobile Game at Gamescom

It's already a day into the Gamescom convention, and yet we're still not done with news from it! That's because Hypergryph's Arknights: Endfield, based on Yostar's hit tower defence, has snagged a nomination for Best Mobile Game at this year's Gamescom Awards.

The nomination is hardly surprising given that Arknights: Endfield debuted a very flashy, effect-laden trailer at Opening Night Live. Offering us our best look yet at the Factorio-style base building, tower defence and 3D ARPG action that distinguishes Arknights: Endfield from its predecessor.

Right now, it's up to the fans to decide how to cast their vote, with voting for the Gamescom Awards open until the end of the day. And if you still need to make up your mind, you can also check out the Arknights: Endfield booth at Hall 8.1, Booth B021, if you're in attendance this year at the Cologne convention.

The deciding vote

While the $500k+ price-tag for airing a trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live has ended up with a lot of chin-stroking and musing (myself included) I think this shows that the benefits are a lot more than just the two or three minutes when the trailer is actually shown on stage.

Right now, I'd bet that a lot of fans who'd otherwise not heard of Endfield are curious because of the new trailer, and between the on-site booth featuring its cosplayers and massive displays, and the Gamescom Awards, there are plenty of opportunities to get even more exposure to curious gamers.
