Angry Birds Journey is the latest entry into Rovio's popular avian-flinging series and it's available for iOS and Android in USA, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, and Poland now as part of a soft-launch roll out to collect player feedback.

If the cutesy art style looks familiar to you, that's because this is actually Angry Birds Casual but now with a slightly more interesting name. As Angry Birds Casual, it soft-launched on iOS last year in the US, Finland, Poland, and Sweden. Our own James Gilmour enjoyed his time with it last year and you can check out his thoughts and some gameplay in the video below.

The game aims to offer an approachable, fresh take on the familiar slingshot gameplay that's even more laid back than its predecessors. However, Rovio also claims it will still have the occasional tricky physics-based puzzle that fans of the series will be familiar with.

There will be plenty of birds to launch that players will be familiar with albeit sporting a more cutesy aesthetic than ever before alongside a bunch of new characters too. They'll each have their own abilities to bring the to slingshot and discovering the best ways to use them will be key to progressing through the levels with ease.

The aim of the game is to reunite fireflies with their soulmates, whilst also dealing with those pesky pigs. It'll feature the usual tower toppling that Angry Birds is known for alongside other 'dynamic puzzles', according to its App Store page.

Angry Birds Journey is available now over on the App Store and Google Play in the USA, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, and Poland. It is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
