Miracle Tea’s upcoming puzzler, Alula, is receiving a fresh lick of paint as the indie developer just announced a dramatic overhaul to the game before it’s release on iOS. There will be brand new behaviour modifications to the game’s puzzle editor and a major update to its visual assets, making for an even richer game play experience.

Alula is expected to be released in 2022 and is a title we’ve been looking forward to since it was crowned the winner at our Digital Big Indie Pitch #4 event. Described as a stargazing gardening game about what it means to be alone in the universe, in Alula you’ll find yourself stranded on a desolate island: standing beneath a calming purple sky, filled with a cluster of stars. You will have to learn to cultivate your new habitat as you adapt to a life of isolation. Don’t worry though, for you won’t be completely alone - towards the shore you’ll find bottles containing messages which allow you to connect with other players.

Among the many laudable features that wowed our Indie Pitch judges was Alula’s puzzle mechanics, which are introduced by your interaction with the sky above. The stars in the sky provide spawning-pairing puzzles that you’ll need to solve in order to receive the special seeds required to grow your very own island home.

If you’re eager to learn more about the game, you can check on Alula's progress via the game’s official website and Twitter page.

Whilst no updates have emerged so far regarding its release date, we’re expecting it to launch around the middle of next year for iOS and Steam.
