Spiritual sequel to seminal turn-based strategy game M.U.L.E. looking to Kickstart into action

Classic turn-based strategy game M.U.L.E. is set to receive a modern spiritual sequel Alpha Colony - A Tribute To M.U.L.E. If its Kickstarter campaign is successful, that is.

DreamQuest Games is looking to raise the eye-watering amount of $500,000 to get the game off the ground and has so far managed to attract $20,000 at the time of writing.

Blast from the past

The original M.U.L.E came out on the Atari 400/800 in 1983 and was developed by the late Dan Bunten. Players used the titular M.U.L.E. (Multiple Use Labour Element) to harvest resources from the planet's surface in order to further their race.

It was one of Electronic Arts's earliest published games and often pops up in Most Influential Games lists.

If you want to get involved in bringing the game back to mobiles, check out the Kickstarter fund for Alpha Colony - A Tribute To M.U.L.E. here.
