Alien: Isolation, the critically-acclaimed survival horror game, will release for iOS and Android next month

Feral Interactive has announced that it will release Alien: Isolation for iOS and Android on December 16th, with pre-orders now available for iOS. The first-person survival game received critical acclaim when it was released on PC and console – though I personally wasn't a fan – and now mobile players will have a chance to escape the clutches of the iconic Xenomorph.

Feral Interactive has revamped the controls to better suit touchscreen but has also included a fully customisable interface so players can tweak it to their liking. However, if you're completely opposed to the idea of playing a first-person game with touch screen controls, Alien: Isolation will also feature controller support.

The mobile port will also provide the complete Alien: Isolation experience with all seven DLC packs, such as Last Survivor and Crew Expendable, included. If you'd like to check out some gameplay of Alien: Isolation running on mobile, you can check out the trailer below.

If you're somehow unfamiliar with Alien: Isolation, it is a first-person survival horror game that follows Amanda Ripley's journey to find her mother Ellen. The flight recording from her ship has been recovered and leads Amanda to Sevastopol space station. Naturally, it's not all smooth sailing, and she soon finds herself being stalked by a Xenomorph while having to contend with malfunctioning androids.

Players will need to scavenge the station looking for resources to craft into useful items and tech to help them survive. All the while, they will need to be stealthy, ducking under tablets or hiding in lockers whenever an enemy is nearby. They may even have to resort to crawling through ventilation ducts to avoid being discovered.

Alien: Isolation is available to pre-order now, over on the App Store and soon on Google Play ahead of its release on December 16th. It will be a premium game that costs £12.99 or your local equivalent.
