Airship Knights, the latest fantasy idle RPG, officially launches

After opening up pre-registration earlier this year, the idle RPG inspired by JRPGs of yore Airship Knights has finally been released. This brand new AFK game sees you take to the skies in a lighthearted adventure through a fantastical world full of humour and hijinks, all the while upgrading your heroes as they do combat by themselves upon the helm of your ship.

Airship Knights is first and foremost an entry into the popular idle genre, akin to games like Tap Titans or Clicker Heroes, where most of what you’ll be doing is simply tapping a button to perform the majority of combat. Your heroes take their place on the helm of your airship and do battle against enemies who invade your ship, and you can either help out by tapping the fight, or simply let them go at it as you go about your day!

As for what heroes are available, there’s a massive amount of characters you’ll be able to collect, each with their own aesthetics and abilities that they’ll use during combat. As you progress through the game, you’ll unlock a ton of different ones and you can organize them within your party as you see fit.

Add in the ability to upgrade these heroes and equip them with gear which can also be levelled up itself, and there’s a lot to fill your time with. You’ll have to take part in these systems to tackle the later content, as the enemies progressively get harder and harder the deeper you get into the game.

Airship Knights also has quite a plot, and a focus on that story too. As you tackle enemy encounters, you’ll progress towards different checkpoints that will offer up new plot points, opening up stories about the different characters and their motives. This is a full-on humour-based title though, so expect lots of laughs rather than an engaging political drama.
