ACE: Alice Card Episode is an upcoming Balatro-like themed around Alice in Wonderland
  • Build your deck and deal burst damage
  • 130 Jokers to discover
  • Defeat card soldiers and upgrade your deck

Given that Mafgames usually offers mobile experiences revolving around adorable cats and fat hamsters, it might seem a little odd that it's gearing up for a card-based Balatro-esque deck-builder - but that's exactly what ACE: Alice Card Episode is going to be. This upcoming new contender in the recent string of Balatro-likes is even claiming that you won't be able to do anything else once you get started, boldly warning everyone to "not make any plans before playing this game."

That little note of caution is actually pretty charming, and it makes me curious to see just what the fuss is about - and fuss there will be given the Alice in Wonderland-themed premise here. You're supposed to take down the main villain in Wonderland after getting sucked into grandma's pocket watch for some reason, and you can do that by tinkering around with burst cards to deal the most damage.

As you defeat each card soldier that goes up against you on your noble quest, you can earn coins and purchase essentials across 130 Jokers, each one with its own distinct skills. I think it's pretty interesting to see the "Joker" concept with a Carroll-esque theme in that sense!
